The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Chemistry Teacher to join our thriving Science department and contribute to the education of high-achieving students. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing students for further and higher study in the subject, while also contributing to the school’s extensive enrichment and extra-curricular provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Chemistry to Key Stages 4 and 5, including GCSE Triple Science and A-Level.
  • Deliver engaging and stimulating lessons that promote a deep understanding of the subject.
  • Support students in developing the skills needed for further and higher education.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the Science curriculum.
  • Participate in enrichment and extra-curricular activities that enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective Science department.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate these into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with STEM enrichment activities.
  • Experience working with gifted and talented students.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a selective or high-achieving educational environment.
