The Opportunity:
As a Curriculum Lead for Computing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a high-quality, seven-year computing curriculum focused on programming, problem-solving, and computational thinking. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire students, while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a carefully sequenced computing curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Lead the teaching of Computer Science to A Level and support the development of student skills in programming and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging and innovative resources for teaching computing.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development within the department and across the school.
- Support the use of technology in teaching and learning, including the use of iPads and in-house apps.
- Ensure that the computing curriculum is aligned with the school’s vision for academic excellence and student success.
- Work closely with the leadership team to enhance the school’s computing offer and support student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in computing and a passion for teaching young people.
- Proven ability to teach Computer Science to A Level.
- Strong knowledge of programming and computational thinking.
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and student achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a computing department or taking on leadership roles within a school.
- Familiarity with the use of technology in teaching and learning, including the use of iPads and in-house apps.
- Experience with Python and other relevant programming languages.
- A track record of improving student outcomes in computing subjects.
- Experience working within a Catholic school or a school with a strong ethos and values-based culture.
