The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sport, you will lead a dynamic and growing sports programme, playing a key role in shaping the school’s sporting identity. This is a senior leadership position with the potential to influence the school’s strategic direction and drive excellence in sport and physical education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and develop the school’s sports programme, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
  • Manage and support a team of sports staff, coaches, and facilities.
  • Promote and grow participation in sport, with a particular focus on girls’ sport in Cricket and Rugby.
  • Ensure the effective use of the school’s new Sports Hub and associated facilities.
  • Collaborate with the wider leadership team to integrate sport into the school’s overall vision and strategy.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the sports programme and its impact on student development.
  • Work closely with the Head Teacher and other senior leaders to drive whole-school initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of a broad and inclusive co-curricular programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior sports leadership role, ideally as a Director of Sport or Assistant Director of Sport.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Experience in developing and delivering high-quality sports programmes in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the strategic development of sport and physical education in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in growing girls’ sport, particularly in Cricket and Rugby.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in school sport and physical education.
  • Experience in managing large-scale sports facilities and infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of the role of sport in student development and academic achievement.
