The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic and supportive school as a Computing Teacher Apprentice. This one-year programme provides on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with the option to pursue a self-funded PGCE. You will be part of a dedicated computing team and contribute to the school’s mission of providing high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of computing lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Work closely with experienced teachers to develop teaching and classroom management skills.
- Participate in planning and preparing engaging and innovative computing lessons.
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities and events.
- Attend and engage in professional development sessions and training.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Support the implementation of the school’s computing curriculum and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor's degree from a UK higher education institution.
- Standard equivalent to GCSE grade 4/C in English Language and mathematics.
- Experience of working in a school and/or with young people.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Previous experience in computing or technology-related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in education and teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with teaching or mentoring.
