The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic and supportive school as a Computing Teacher Apprentice. This one-year programme provides on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with the option to pursue a self-funded PGCE. You will be part of a dedicated computing team and contribute to the school’s mission of providing high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of computing lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Work closely with experienced teachers to develop teaching and classroom management skills.
  • Participate in planning and preparing engaging and innovative computing lessons.
  • Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Attend and engage in professional development sessions and training.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s computing curriculum and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor's degree from a UK higher education institution.
  • Standard equivalent to GCSE grade 4/C in English Language and mathematics.
  • Experience of working in a school and/or with young people.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in computing or technology-related fields.
  • Demonstrated interest in education and teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with teaching or mentoring.
