The Opportunity:
A Maths Teacher Apprentice is needed to begin a one-year training programme that leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is a unique opportunity to gain practical teaching experience while working within a supportive and established maths team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the maths team in delivering high-quality lessons to students aged 11-16.
- Participate in a structured teacher training programme with mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-focused lessons.
- Contribute to the development of teaching resources and classroom materials.
- Work closely with senior leaders and experienced teachers to improve teaching practice.
- Engage in ongoing assessments and feedback to support student progress.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student achievement.
- Take part in school events and extracurricular activities that support student development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A standard equivalent to GCSE grade 4/C in English Language and mathematics.
- A Bachelor's degree from a UK higher education institution.
- Experience of working in a school and/or with young people.
- Commitment to education and a desire to develop a career in teaching.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching or supporting maths in a school setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and take initiative.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with teacher training or apprenticeship schemes.
