The Opportunity:

As a Computing Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality computing education to Sixth Form students. You will inspire and support learners in mastering computing courses up to A-Level and BTEC Level 3. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a school known for excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective computing lessons to a range of students at A-Level and BTEC Level 3.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and supports progression to Higher Education.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development initiatives and contribute to the wider curriculum.
  • Support students in developing key skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and digital literacy.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements in computing.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and student enrichment programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with appropriate teaching qualifications and a degree-level qualification in computing or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching computing at A-Level or BTEC Level 3.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student success.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or working with diverse student groups.
  • Familiarity with digital technologies and software used in computing education.
  • Experience in teacher training or professional development.
  • Previous experience in a further education or sixth form college setting.
