The Opportunity:
As a Contemporary Dance Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of dancers. You will deliver high-quality contemporary dance instruction, focusing on techniques such as Release, Limón, and Cunningham, while supporting students in developing their technical, artistic, and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality contemporary dance training using Release, Limón, and Cunningham techniques.
- Support students in developing technical excellence, physical conditioning, and musicality.
- Foster creative problem-solving, choreographic development, and ensemble collaboration.
- Participate in student support, choreography, rehearsals, and performance preparation.
- Promote safe, inclusive, and inspiring teaching environments.
- Engage with current industry practices and contribute to the school's artistic vision.
- Provide pastoral care and help students build resilience, confidence, and artistic identity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experienced teacher of contemporary dance with a strong professional background.
- Skilled in floorwork, contact work, improvisation, and dynamic movement vocabulary.
- Passionate about developing young talent through safe, inclusive, and inspiring teaching.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality dance training in a supportive environment.
Preferred
- Experience with commercial or culturally diverse dance styles.
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- Engagement with current industry practices and commitment to lifelong learning.
- Experience in choreography, performance preparation, and student support.
