Seeking a dedicated Houseparent for a boarding school in Birmingham. Ideal for compassionate and highly organised professionals.

The Opportunity:

As a Houseparent, you will be responsible for the wellbeing and daily lives of students living away from home. This is a key role in supporting young people as they pursue elite vocational training in dance. The right candidate may have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities within the boarding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a boarding house, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students
  • Support and supervise students in their daily lives, including meals, bedtime routines, and personal care
  • Coordinate with the Deputy Houseparent and pastoral leadership team to ensure smooth operations
  • Respond to parent emails and queries during school holidays
  • Ensure the boarding house is prepared and organised for students returning after breaks
  • Promote the school’s ethos of care, excellence, and personal development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere
  • Assist with administrative tasks when required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership and organisational skills
  • Experience working in a boarding environment
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Commitment to student welfare and development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a pastoral or residential care setting
  • Knowledge of dance education or performance
  • Experience with child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours and during school holidays

Compensation & Benefits:
