The Opportunity:

As a Rugby Sports Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s sports department and contributing to the success of its rugby programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual who is keen to develop their career in sport while working with students across a wide range of ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management and development of school rugby teams and the House sport programme.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of sports activities and fixtures throughout the academic year.
  • Work closely with the PE and sports coaching team to ensure the smooth running of all sports-related events.
  • Be available for all school sports activities, including evenings and weekends during term time.
  • Contribute to the development of student athletes and promote a positive sporting culture.
  • Assist in the maintenance and use of sports facilities and equipment.
  • Provide support during training sessions, matches, and other sporting events.
  • Collaborate with other staff to deliver a high-quality sports experience for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong background in rugby, with relevant playing or coaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A commitment to the development of young athletes and a passion for sport.
  • Availability to work during term time, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of sports coaching and player development.
  • Experience with sports administration or event management.
  • A graduate degree or current enrollment in a relevant course of study.
