Summary:

Placement Assessor role at a school offering T-level and BTEC courses. Support learners during placements.

The Opportunity:

As a Placement Assessor, you will play a key role in preparing learners for their work placements, ensuring they gain valuable experience and meet course requirements. You will assess, mentor, and provide feedback to learners across a range of courses, including T-levels and BTECs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess learners during work placements in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support learners in setting and achieving targets.
  • Complete observation documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Mentor and coach learners to ensure they gain maximum benefit from their placements.
  • Collaborate with course teams to ensure alignment with curriculum and learning outcomes.
  • Support learners in developing practical skills and confidence in real-world settings.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on learner progress and performance.
  • Contribute to the overall success of learners in achieving their qualifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in education or training, preferably in childcare, early years, or health and social care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess and provide feedback effectively.
  • Experience working with learners on work placements or in similar roles.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with T-levels or BTEC qualifications.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and awarding body requirements.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching learners.
  • Knowledge of health and social care or early years education frameworks.
