The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure the continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You will manage classroom behavior, support students with their learning, and contribute to a positive and productive educational environment. This is a vital role in maintaining the quality of education and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students engage with their learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with academy policies
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
  • Support the wider school team as required
  • Maintain a positive and structured learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Adapt to changing situations and priorities as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in managing groups of students in a classroom setting
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
  • A commitment to supporting students in a challenging but rewarding environment

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or educational support
  • Familiarity with a range of subjects
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Knowledge of curriculum delivery and student engagement techniques
