The Opportunity:
As the Director of Science Learning, you will lead and inspire a team of educators to deliver high-quality science education. This role is ideal for an ambitious and experienced teacher looking to take on a leadership position and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the science curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all learners.
- Support and coach science teachers to achieve individual and collective targets.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the science department to drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in science teaching and learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise academic standards and student attainment.
- Represent the science department at school and external meetings.
- Ensure that science teaching aligns with the school’s values and mission.
- Promote the development of leadership skills among science staff and students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- The ability to teach science to GCSE standard.
- Experience in leading a successful faculty and delivering outstanding attainment.
- Strong organisational, motivational and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to coach and support colleagues to achieve targets.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- A track record of raising pupil outcomes and improving standards.
- Experience of working in a high-performing school or multi-academy trust.
