The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to ensure the smooth running of classes during teacher absences. This role is vital to maintaining the high standards of behaviour and learning that the school upholds. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organised, and able to support students across a range of subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Liaise with the class teacher to understand lesson plans and expectations.
  • Maintain discipline and support students in a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons in line with the school’s academic standards.
  • Communicate regularly with senior staff and other teachers to ensure consistency.
  • Support students in following set work and maintaining high standards of behaviour.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to cover arrangements.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos and culture through positive engagement with students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in teaching or classroom supervision.
  • Ability to manage and motivate students of all ages.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexibility to work three days per week, term-time only.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, particularly within a Catholic or independent school.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and teaching standards.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Strong understanding of academic standards and learning outcomes.
