The Opportunity:

As a Lead Politics Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the curriculum and supporting a team of teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Politics teacher to take on a leadership role and make a real impact on student learning and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a high-quality Politics curriculum aligned with the school’s vision and Ofsted standards.
  • Lead and support a team of Politics teachers, providing expert guidance and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with other subject leads and senior leadership to enhance school-wide academic performance.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives that support student achievement and teacher growth.
  • Model outstanding teaching practice and maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
  • Ensure all assessments and feedback are aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Represent the school at external events and contribute to the wider educational community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Politics at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of teachers.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Politics education.
  • Excellent classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role, such as Head of Department or MLT.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement strategies.
  • Experience with teaching A-Level Politics.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and professional development.
