The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment when teaching staff are absent. You will support students in their learning and ensure that lessons continue with minimal disruption. This is a key role in upholding the school’s strong behavioural standards and contributing to a calm, orderly, and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
  • Support students in their learning by providing clear instructions and maintaining discipline.
  • Uphold the school’s high standards of behaviour and ensure that all students adhere to the established rules and expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff and other members of the school community.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback where necessary.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to class supervision and reporting.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a positive and respectful school culture.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s behavioural policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a supervisory or support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and engage with students of all ages.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of behaviour and discipline.
  • Fluency in spoken English (essential requirement for this role).

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role.
  • Experience working with students in a ‘warm/strict’ behavioural environment.
  • Understanding of the importance of academic and personal development in education.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
