The Opportunity:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment when teaching staff are absent. You will support students in their learning and ensure that lessons continue with minimal disruption. This is a key role in upholding the school’s strong behavioural standards and contributing to a calm, orderly, and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
- Support students in their learning by providing clear instructions and maintaining discipline.
- Uphold the school’s high standards of behaviour and ensure that all students adhere to the established rules and expectations.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff and other members of the school community.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback where necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to class supervision and reporting.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a positive and respectful school culture.
- Support the implementation of the school’s behavioural policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a supervisory or support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and engage with students of all ages.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of behaviour and discipline.
- Fluency in spoken English (essential requirement for this role).
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role.
- Experience working with students in a ‘warm/strict’ behavioural environment.
- Understanding of the importance of academic and personal development in education.
- Experience in supporting the delivery of lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
