The Opportunity:
As a Cover Teacher, you will support student learning by supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with set work. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences to ensure students remain focused and productive
- Support students with set work and learning activities in line with the curriculum
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment through effective classroom management
- Communicate regularly with teachers and senior staff to ensure continuity of learning
- Follow school policies and procedures at all times
- Assist with administrative tasks as required
- Provide feedback on student progress and behaviour where appropriate
- Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall learning experience
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good communication skills with both adults and young people
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
- Basic IT skills for supporting learning activities
- Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to school policies
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational setting
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Knowledge of current educational practices and curricula
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
