As a Cover Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by delivering engaging and tailored lessons. This role allows you to support the school’s mission of fostering independence, confidence, and resilience in students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support students’ development
  • Foster a supportive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes independence and wellbeing
  • Engage with families and carers to support student progress and wellbeing
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school initiatives
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the school at all times

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A teaching qualification or relevant experience in education
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations

Preferred

  • Qualification in the education of children with SEN
  • Experience in creating and delivering individualised learning plans
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies in a special needs setting
