The Opportunity:

A Religious Studies Teacher is needed for maternity cover, offering flexibility between part-time and full-time hours. This role provides the opportunity to teach across key stages, including a successful sixth form, and to contribute to a dynamic and supportive department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons to students across key stages.
  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities Department to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and staff development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Religious Studies and education practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Studies or equivalent.
  • Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching.
  • Ability to teach across key stages, including sixth form.
  • Willingness to take part in professional development and reflective practice.

Preferred

  • Experience with ECT statutory induction.
  • Familiarity with a range of humanities subjects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
