The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Sports Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering a dynamic sports programme and supporting students in their physical and personal development. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in education or elite sport, offering a unique insight into life at a leading UK boarding school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and deliver a high-quality sports programme in one of the following: Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Cricket, Football, Hockey, or Racket Sports.
  • Support pupils in developing their sporting skills, encouraging participation and excellence.
  • Assist with boarding house duties, weekend activities, and academic support where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the athletic development and strength and conditioning programme, where possible.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other staff to enhance the overall student experience and school community.
  • Assist with various aspects of school life, including events and pastoral care.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in a variety of settings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A university degree or currently studying for one.
  • Strong coaching ability in at least one of the specified sports.
  • Willingness to support students in multiple areas of school life.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working in a boarding school environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or working with young people.
  • Knowledge of athletic development or strength and conditioning.
  • Previous experience in education or sports-related roles.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in teaching or elite sport.
