The Opportunity:
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Credit Controller to manage the debtors’ ledgers across multiple UK schools. This role is crucial in ensuring effective credit control processes, managing outstanding fees, and providing high levels of customer service to parents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor the Aged Debtors across the UK schools, ensuring late payers are contacted and payment plans are effectively tracked
- Document and monitor new payment plans in line with contractual obligations
- Ensure a thorough understanding of parent contracts and associated payment terms
- Provide necessary information to outsourced credit control services
- Escalate unresolved debts, particularly fees in lieu of notice, to small claims court
- Respond to billing and payment-related queries from parents and colleagues
- Collaborate with staff to resolve billing issues promptly and professionally
- Continuously review and improve credit control processes for efficiency and compliance
- Update financial processes in line with legislative and reporting requirements
- Support the wider finance team as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent customer service experience, with the ability to manage challenging situations
- Prior experience in a finance or similar role, including knowledge of credit control processes
- Education to A-Level or equivalent standard, with strong grades in English and Maths
Preferred
- Familiarity with the iFinance accounting system
- A degree qualification or relevant professional certification
