The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Head of Maths, you will play a vital role in raising achievement and leading the maths faculty. You will work closely with the Head of Maths to support the continued development of the department and contribute to the school’s journey of improvement and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the maths faculty in raising student achievement and standards.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Maths to ensure the smooth running and development of the department.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the faculty.
- Take a leading role in the development of Key Stage 3 provision and curriculum.
- Inspire and motivate colleagues and students to achieve their full potential.
- Ensure high-quality teaching and learning practices are maintained across the department.
- Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s academic and pastoral strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in maths education.
- Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
- Strong belief in the potential of all students, regardless of background or ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Experience in leading departmental improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of current educational research and best practice in maths teaching.
