The Opportunity:

As the Cricket Director, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of a high-performance cricket programme for both boys and girls. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of cricket at the school, ensuring excellence in coaching, player development, and competitive success across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a clear, strategic plan for the systematic growth of cricket at the school, with defined short, medium, and long-term goals.
  • Deliver a comprehensive cricket programme that enhances the technical, tactical, and strategic skills of players at all levels.
  • Communicate the cricket philosophy and vision to pupils, coaches, and staff, inspiring commitment and alignment with the school's sporting objectives.
  • Align coaching and match activities with the school’s cricket philosophy, ensuring consistency and quality across all teams.
  • Lead and deliver a training programme for all coaching staff, ensuring they deliver coaching aligned with the school’s cricket philosophy.
  • Manage the cricket programme within the agreed budget and ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
  • Mentor and motivate coaching staff through regular performance management, team meetings, and one-on-one sessions.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and external coaches to ensure consistency in coaching and support for pupils.
  • Attract and support talented cricketers, helping them balance academic, sporting, and personal commitments.
  • Organise and lead cricket tours to enhance players' technical and tactical skills.
  • Promote and enhance the school’s reputation within the cricket community, building sustainable relationships with local clubs and academies.
  • Coordinate the administration of the cricket programme with the Sports Administrator and Assistant Director of Cricket.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a high-performance sport environment.
  • Strong technical and tactical knowledge of cricket at all levels.
  • Experience in developing and managing sports programmes in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience working with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
  • Background in coaching at a professional or elite level.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring coaching staff.
  • Familiarity with school sport administration and co-curricular programme management.
