The Opportunity:

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons to girls across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on A Level. You will play a vital role in shaping future leaders and nurturing a passion for science in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students, with a focus on A Level.
  • Create innovative and thought-provoking lessons that encourage creativity and collaboration.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results in GCSE and A Level Chemistry.
  • Offer general combined Science for Key Stage 3.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop a strong department culture.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the science curriculum.
  • Participate in school-wide events and initiatives that promote the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE and A Level Chemistry.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver challenging lessons.
  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 3 Science, including combined Science.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with Early Career Teacher (ECT) development and support.
  • Familiarity with the GDST and its educational values.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership roles within the department.
