Summary:

Head of Psychology role available at a high-performing all girls’ school. Lead a thriving A-Level Psychology department.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead a successful A-Level department and inspire a group of highly motivated students. This is a leadership role for an experienced and passionate teacher who wants to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the A-Level Psychology department
  • Deliver high-quality teaching to Key Stage 5 students
  • Act as a form tutor to a KS3, 4 or 5 group
  • Organise and lead extra-curricular activities
  • Contribute to the wider life and culture of the school
  • Support the development of the Psychology curriculum
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Trust
  • Promote the importance of Psychology in student development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching Psychology at A-Level
  • Proven track record in inspiring and engaging students
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Strong understanding of Psychology curriculum priorities
  • Ability to articulate the value of the subject in student development
  • Experience in middle leadership or a desire to take on leadership responsibilities

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department
  • Background in curriculum development
  • Experience with cross-Trust collaboration
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience in managing extra-curricular activities
