The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated German Teacher to join a dynamic and successful department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students, deliver high-quality teaching, and contribute to a thriving academic programme that consistently achieves outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach German to GCSE and A Level, ensuring a stimulating and engaging learning experience.
  • Deliver lessons that promote linguistic fluency, cultural awareness, and academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Head of MFL and other language teachers to develop and implement departmental strategies.
  • Participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities and contribute to the school’s pastoral and academic life.
  • Support students through a variety of cultural events, competitions, and residential trips.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the German department.
  • Work with students from Year 7 to Year 13, ensuring progression and achievement at all levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • An excellent degree in German or a related subject.
  • Fluent in German.
  • Demonstrable ability to teach GCSE and A Level German.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Commitment to boarding school life and willingness to engage in co-curricular activities.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proven record of meeting targets and deadlines.

Preferred

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Ability to teach another language or a second subject.
