The Opportunity:

As a Religious Education Teacher with Chaplaincy Support, you will play a key role in shaping the spiritual and ethical development of students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons that encourage critical thinking and reflection.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment for students of all faiths and none.
  • Support the chaplaincy team in providing spiritual guidance and pastoral care to students and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance the curriculum and student experience.
  • Participate in collaborative planning and resource development for the RE department.
  • Promote Gospel values and the mission of the school through teaching and pastoral support.
  • Encourage students to explore their own beliefs and those of others in a respectful and open manner.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of the chaplaincy role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of the school.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in pastoral care or chaplaincy support is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices.
  • Experience with curriculum development and planning.
  • Knowledge of Catholic theology and Gospel values.
