The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach across the age and ability range, including CAIE IGCSE and OCR Physics A.
  • Deliver lessons that promote independent inquiry and academic excellence.
  • Develop and share innovative digital resources with the department.
  • Support pupils through academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in the marking of scholarship and entrance exams and invigilate internal and external examinations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to pupil reports.
  • Act as a tutor to a group of pupils within a boarding house.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme, including Physics Olympiad training.
  • Provide occasional cover for absences within the department or wider school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • An excellent Honours degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Proven ability to teach Physics at both IGCSE and A Level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Experience in setting and marking work in line with departmental policies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a boarding school environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or those seeking to develop their teaching practice.
  • Background in leading or contributing to extra-curricular activities in Physics or related subjects.
  • Experience with digital resource development and innovative teaching methods.
