Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Criminology across the school, ensuring continuity, progression, and high-quality delivery.
- Monitor pupil progress, set ambitious targets, and use data effectively to drive improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback, support colleagues, and lead professional development.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and respectful learning environment rooted in mutual respect.
- Promote literacy, high standards of behaviour, and independent learning.
- Participate fully in the life of the school, including duties, assemblies, parent communication, and meetings.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times.
- Ensure the Criminology curriculum is cohesive, progressive, inclusive, and engaging.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Outstanding classroom practice with a strong understanding of how students learn.
- Experience or ambition in subject leadership, curriculum design, or coordination.
- High expectations for behaviour, progress, and achievement.
- Strong knowledge of Criminology and enthusiasm to stay current with developments in the field.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wider life of the school.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a subject or coordinating curriculum development.
- Demonstrated success in driving standards and improving outcomes in Criminology.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience with data analysis and curriculum evaluation.
