We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Curriculum Leader for Art and Photography to join our team. This role offers the chance to lead a creative and inclusive department, shaping the future of art education. The ideal candidate will be passionate about inspiring students and driving innovation in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art and Photography curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, innovative, and aligned with school values.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and student independence.
  • Support and mentor teachers within the department to enhance teaching standards and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate cross-curricular themes and promote a whole-school approach to creativity.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in art and photography education.
  • Represent the department at staff meetings, curriculum reviews, and external events.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Art and Photography at secondary level.
  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role, ideally as a Curriculum Leader.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Art and Photography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or curriculum team.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Knowledge of new technologies and digital tools in art and photography education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
