The Opportunity:
A Curriculum Leader Design Technology is needed to lead and inspire a dedicated team in a well-resourced department. This role offers the chance to shape the curriculum and support student learning across a range of subjects, from GCSE to Sixth Form. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design technology and committed to delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design technology curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
- Support and mentor colleagues within the department to enhance teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects, including product design, engineering, and electronics.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate cross-curricular themes and opportunities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
- Contribute to the development of the school’s strategic vision for design technology and engineering.
- Participate in professional development and share best practices with the wider school community.
- Ensure that facilities and resources are used effectively to support teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in design technology or engineering.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in design technology, product design, engineering, or electronics.
- Experience of teaching across a range of abilities and age groups.
- Ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
Preferred
- Experience of leading curriculum development or innovation in design technology.
- Familiarity with teaching food preparation and nutrition.
- Experience in GCSE and A-level teaching.
- Experience in a high-performing school or similar setting.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
