Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation and sequencing of the curriculum to ensure a spiral of knowledge that supports pupil progress.
  • Adapt and refine existing schemes of work and assessment frameworks to ensure they remain high-quality and compliant.
  • Maintain a bank of subject-specific resources aligned with the Framework for Great Teaching.
  • Conduct regular work scrutinies and provide feedback to SLT on curriculum impact.
  • Support the administration of exam board requirements and ensure compliance with school processes.
  • Integrate school-wide literacy and numeracy strategies into your subject area.
  • Implement agreed subject-specific intervention strategies and track their impact on pupil outcomes.
  • Coordinate subject-specific clubs and "beyond the classroom" opportunities to enhance student engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Key Stage 3 English.
  • Proven ability to lead and support curriculum development.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and attainment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and compliance with school policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in staff mentoring or leading professional development.
  • Familiarity with multi-faith education and virtues-led teaching approaches.
  • Experience in leading subject-specific events or competitions.
  • Knowledge of exam board requirements and assessment frameworks.
