The Opportunity:

As a Key Stage 4 Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and supporting the school’s commitment to academic and spiritual development. You will be responsible for teaching, curriculum leadership, and contributing to the overall success of students in mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation and sequencing of the maths curriculum to ensure a spiral of knowledge and consistent progress.
  • Adapt and refine existing schemes of work and assessment frameworks to maintain high standards and compliance.
  • Maintain a bank of high-quality subject-specific resources aligned with the school’s teaching framework.
  • Conduct regular work scrutinies and provide feedback to senior leadership on curriculum impact.
  • Support the administration of exam board requirements and ensure compliance with school processes.
  • Integrate school-wide literacy and numeracy strategies into maths lessons.
  • Contribute to the Departmental Improvement Plan with specialist feedback and lead classroom-based projects.
  • Monitor pupil progress and implement targeted interventions to improve outcomes.
  • Coordinate subject-specific clubs and events to enhance student engagement and cultural capital.
  • Provide leadership and support to colleagues through modelling excellent pedagogy and sharing resources.
  • Support the options process by offering expert advice to pupils and parents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Key Stage 4 maths.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership.
  • Ability to monitor and report on pupil progress and outcomes.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and compliance with school policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or supporting staff development.
  • Familiarity with school-wide literacy and numeracy strategies.
  • Experience in managing subject-specific events or competitions.
  • Experience with exam board requirements and moderation processes.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
