The Opportunity:

As a Geography and History Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will model the school’s virtues-led ethos, helping students achieve academic excellence and spiritual growth while preparing them for national qualifications and life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the curriculum with deep pedagogical knowledge, ensuring students meet or exceed progress targets at GCSE and A-Level
  • Prepare and develop teaching materials, programmes, and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
  • Be accountable for the attainment, progress, and outcomes of pupils you teach
  • Plan teaching that builds on students' prior knowledge and differentiates appropriately to support all learners
  • Promote high standards of literacy and spoken English across all subjects
  • Use assessment strategies to set challenging learning objectives and monitor learners’ progress
  • Provide regular feedback to pupils and encourage them to reflect on their progress
  • Use data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan lessons
  • Set homework and plan out-of-class activities to consolidate learning
  • Prepare pupils for public examinations and internal assessments
  • Contribute to the design and review of schemes of work aligned with the school's values

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography and History
  • Experience in teaching Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Strong understanding of curriculum delivery and assessment strategies
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to support all learners, including those with special educational needs, EAL, and disabilities
  • Commitment to promoting high standards of literacy and spoken English
  • Experience in pastoral care and form tutoring
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Preferred

  • Experience with multi-faith and virtues-led education
  • Experience in leading or supporting extracurricular activities
  • Experience in professional development and coaching
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational environment
