The Opportunity:

A school in Essex is seeking a Creative Technology Technician to support the Design and Technology and Art departments. This role involves technical assistance, equipment maintenance, and creating a safe and secure learning environment for students. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling practical learning experiences across multiple subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Design and Technology and Art teachers with the setup and clear-up of teaching areas.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and teaching areas to ensure they are safe and functional.
  • Assist in the delivery of practical activities and technical support during lessons.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards in school environments.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet deadlines and manage workload efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with students and staff to support learning and operational needs.
  • Contribute to the overall maintenance and improvement of school facilities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with students and adults.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and security issues in school settings.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Design and Technology and Art subjects.
  • Experience with technical equipment and practical learning activities.
  • Previous experience in a similar support role within education.
