Summary:

Head of Food Technology - Part Time (3 Days) - Permanent. Lead a dynamic Food Technology department and inspire students at all levels.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Food Technology, you will lead a high-achieving department and inspire students at KS3, GCSE, and A Level. This role offers the chance to shape the Food Technology curriculum and contribute to a school that values innovation, creativity, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Food Technology curriculum in line with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Inspire and challenge students to achieve the highest possible standards across all key stages.
  • Collaborate with a supportive and motivated team to drive excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies and co-curricular activities that enhance student engagement.
  • Stay up to date with contemporary pedagogical approaches and ensure they are effectively integrated into lessons.
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support the school’s ethos and contribute to the wider school community through active participation.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a Food Technology or related department.
  • Strong teaching experience at KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality education and student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across the school.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning methodologies.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring other teachers.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or extracurricular activities related to Food Technology.
