Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Design and Technology & Engineering department towards a shared strategic vision.
- Inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3, GCSE, and A Level to achieve the highest standards.
- Implement innovative teaching and learning strategies that enhance student engagement and outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support a cohesive and high-achieving team environment.
- Stay up to date with contemporary pedagogical approaches and integrate them into teaching practices.
- Promote a culture of emotional intelligence, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme and wider community initiatives.
- Ensure the department’s curriculum aligns with the school’s ethos and long-term aspirations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a Design and Technology or Engineering department.
- Strong subject knowledge and teaching experience at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
- Background in innovative teaching and learning methodologies.
- Experience in managing and leading a team of educators.
- Involvement in co-curricular activities and student engagement initiatives.
