Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Design and Technology & Engineering department towards a shared strategic vision.
  • Inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3, GCSE, and A Level to achieve the highest standards.
  • Implement innovative teaching and learning strategies that enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support a cohesive and high-achieving team environment.
  • Stay up to date with contemporary pedagogical approaches and integrate them into teaching practices.
  • Promote a culture of emotional intelligence, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme and wider community initiatives.
  • Ensure the department’s curriculum aligns with the school’s ethos and long-term aspirations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a Design and Technology or Engineering department.
  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching experience at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Background in innovative teaching and learning methodologies.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of educators.
  • Involvement in co-curricular activities and student engagement initiatives.
