Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a high-quality, engaging Chemistry curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Deliver stimulating and innovative lessons that promote deep understanding and a love for science.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Chemistry department, including mentoring and professional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent academic achievement and growth.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extra-curricular activities and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best approaches.
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects the school's values and prepares students for future challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at both GCSE and A level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or department setting.
  • Commitment to student welfare, academic achievement, and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or departmental management.
  • A passion for science education and a desire to innovate in teaching methods.
  • Experience with enrichment activities and extracurricular science programs.
  • Familiarity with the Haberdashers’ Company values and educational philosophy.
