The Opportunity:

As a Curriculum Leader KS3 Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a dynamic and engaging science curriculum for Key Stage 3 students. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and motivate young minds, while contributing to the school’s mission of providing a rich and meaningful educational experience. You will lead the development of innovative teaching strategies and support the school’s commitment to excellence in science education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of the KS3 Science curriculum to ensure it is engaging, challenging, and aligned with the school’s educational philosophy.
  • Deliver high-quality, stimulating science lessons that foster a love of learning and critical thinking.
  • Support and mentor other science staff to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver extracurricular science activities and enrichment opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure consistent standards and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including participation in pastoral and community activities.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement school-wide initiatives and policies.
  • Ensure all teaching and learning practices reflect the school’s values of excellence, inclusivity, and student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
  • Proven experience in curriculum leadership and development.
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality science education at Key Stage 3.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leadership.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and educational philosophy.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A level Science.
  • Interest in leading curriculum innovation and professional development.
  • Experience in extra-curricular science activities or enrichment programs.
  • Familiarity with the Haberdashers’ educational approach or similar institutions.
