The Opportunity:

As Curriculum Leader Mathematics, you will provide professional leadership to ensure excellence in teaching and learning across the Maths department. This role is essential in driving a culture of high aspirations, continuous improvement, and outstanding achievement for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Mathematics curriculum to ensure it is broad, balanced, and inclusive.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning to support continuous improvement.
  • Support staff development through mentoring, training, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of high aspirations and achievement across the department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent standards and progression.
  • Ensure that all students, including those with additional needs, are challenged and supported effectively.
  • Foster a sense of community and shared purpose within the department.
  • Maintain strong communication with senior leadership and other curriculum leaders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in Mathematics.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education and Gospel values.
  • Experience in supporting staff development and professional learning.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
