The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Curriculum Leader Media Studies to lead and develop the Media Studies curriculum. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Media Studies curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to ensure continuous improvement in outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the college to enhance cross-curricular links and share best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to teaching staff to improve pedagogy and student engagement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Media Studies and incorporate new ideas into the curriculum.
  • Represent the department in college-wide meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Media Studies.
  • Experience in curriculum leadership and development within a Sixth Form College.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of a Catholic Sixth Form College.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic educational setting.
  • Previous experience in leading a department or team.
  • Experience with digital media and technology in teaching.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in Media Studies.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting teaching staff.
