The Opportunity:
As a Dance Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the future of performing arts within the school. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the first ever curriculum offer in dance at the school, with a group of enthusiastic students eager to learn. You will inspire and motivate students across Key Stages 3-5, contributing to a dynamic and innovative teaching team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Dance across Key Stages 3-5, ensuring students are engaged and challenged.
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and national standards.
- Contribute to the development and design of the Dance curriculum and wider performing arts offerings.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through effective assessment and intervention strategies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and creative learning environment.
- Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and support to students.
- Monitor and analyze student performance data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Dance across Key Stages 3-5.
- Strong subject knowledge in Dance and the performing arts.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess lessons effectively.
- Commitment to the school’s values: ambition, kindness, resilience, and respect.
- Experience in working with diverse student groups, including those with special educational needs.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design and development within the arts.
- Background in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of the performing arts.
