The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Campus Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting the Campus Lead to deliver high-quality education and support for learners with SEND, SEMH, and autism. This role involves leading key operational and pastoral areas, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Campus Lead in implementing strategic objectives and deputise during their absence to ensure continuity of leadership.
  • Lead on pastoral care, behaviour management, attendance monitoring, and engagement interventions.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding policies are followed and liaising with external agencies as required.
  • Assist in monitoring teaching standards, learner progress, and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, data protection, and other statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Campus Lead and Business Operations team to maintain site standards and coordinate exams and assessments.
  • Line manage designated staff, support performance management, and deliver CPD on pastoral care, behaviour, and safeguarding.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external stakeholders, providing regular reports on pastoral, behaviour, and safeguarding matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in Education or related field and Qualified Teacher Status (or working towards); safeguarding and behaviour management training required.
  • Experience in pastoral leadership, behaviour management, and supporting learners with SEND/SEMH.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, SEND Code of Practice, and strategies to improve attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with learners, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Staff supervision and operational support experience.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and valid driving licence, with willingness to travel between sites as needed.
