The Opportunity:

As a School Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and promoting the library, ensuring it remains a welcoming and inspiring space for students. This role is integral to the academic and cultural life of the school, with the opportunity to work closely with teaching staff and contribute to a wide range of school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library
• Promote a culture of reading for pleasure and lifelong learning
• Develop and maintain a diverse and up-to-date collection of resources
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support the curriculum and student learning
• Ensure the library is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students
• Contribute to school events, training days, and staff meetings
• Uphold and promote the ethos and values of the school at all times
• Support students in developing research and information literacy skills

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in library management and education
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to fostering a love of reading among students

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational setting
• Knowledge of library systems and cataloguing software
• Experience with curriculum support and collaboration with teaching staff
• Familiarity with co-curricular activities and student engagement initiatives
