Deputy Director of Learning - Technical for a rapidly improving secondary school in Rochdale.

The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Director of Learning - Technical, you will lead the development of the Computer Science curriculum and support the school’s mission to inspire the next generation of leaders. This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on improving pupil outcomes and driving academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Computer Science faculty to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and aligns with the school’s leadership specialism.
- Support and coach teachers to improve practice and raise attainment across the faculty.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, identifying areas for development and intervention.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape school-wide strategies for academic improvement.
- Promote a culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
- Represent the school in external networks and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and school policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Ability to teach Computer Science to GCSE standard.
- Proven experience in leading a faculty and driving improvements in pupil outcomes.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues to achieve targets.
Preferred
- Experience in leading curriculum development in a technical subject.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Background in leadership training or professional development.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
