Deputy Director of Learning - Mathematics to lead and inspire in a high-achieving school.

The Opportunity:
As the Deputy Director of Learning - Mathematics, you will play a key role in driving academic excellence and raising standards in mathematics. This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to shape curriculum development, support teachers, and make a real difference to student outcomes in a rapidly improving school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mathematics department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an innovative and engaging mathematics curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Support and mentor teaching staff to improve practice and raise attainment across the department.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development for teachers and support staff.
- Work with colleagues to ensure effective use of resources and assessment strategies.
- Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to promote the school’s vision and values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Ability to teach to GCSE standard.
- Proven experience in leading a faculty and improving student outcomes.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues to achieve targets.
- Background in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with leadership programmes or character development initiatives.
- Knowledge of Star Academies’ values and mission.
