The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Director of Learning - Maths, you will lead and deliver outstanding learning and teaching in a disadvantaged community. This role is ideal for experienced educators looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people and to drive academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the maths faculty to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with the Director of Learning to drive continuous improvement across the curriculum.
  • Support and coach colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.
  • Implement innovative and creative teaching strategies to engage and progress learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil performance to ensure sustained delivery of outstanding attainment.
  • Contribute to the development of a rich and diverse leadership programme.
  • Ensure the maths curriculum is accessible and suitable for all learners.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, professional development, and shared success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • The ability to teach to GCSE standard.
  • Proven experience in improving standards and raising pupil outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and motivational skills.
  • Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle leadership roles.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and engage learners.
  • Experience within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
