Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Director of Music in managing the day-to-day operations of the music department.
• Lead the instrumental lesson programme and manage the performance and welfare of music award holders.
• Provide high-level keyboard accompaniment for concerts, services, and exams.
• Coordinate the annual calendar of concerts, competitions, and drama collaborations.
• Teach a high-quality timetable across all age ranges, including A-level and Oxbridge preparation.
• Serve as a tutor within a boarding house and maintain a visible presence in the department.
• Oversee the recruitment, support, and professional development of a high-performing team of Visiting Music Teachers.
• Manage budgets for instrument maintenance and tuning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A good honours degree in Music (postgraduate qualification desirable).
• Experience teaching academic music across Key Stages 3-5.
• Proven track record of professional performance as a conductor, instrumentalist, or singer.
• Experience in management within a similar school setting.
• Strong keyboard and accompaniment skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
• Experience in leading and managing teams of professionals.
• Experience in coordinating music tours and international events.
