The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Director of Primary Education, you will play a vital role in supporting and developing strong leadership across the primary phase. This position is central to ensuring every academy thrives while maintaining its unique identity, with a focus on inclusion, equity, and high expectations. You will work closely with the Executive Director of Education to drive excellence and support staff, students, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and develop values-led leadership across the primary phase.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on inclusion, equity, and high expectations for all students and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Education Directorate to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across all academies.
  • Champion the success, wellbeing, and belonging of students, staff, and communities.
  • Work closely with head teachers, leadership teams, and operational staff to drive improvement and support.
  • Foster a culture of trust, care, and collaboration across the Trust.
  • Ensure that no child, staff member, or academy is left behind.
  • Promote a shared mission of preparing young people for an ever-changing global community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably within a multi-academy trust.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion, equity, and high expectations in education.
  • Experience in supporting and developing leadership teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the values of collaboration, respect, and collective responsibility.

Preferred

  • Experience in primary education leadership.
  • Familiarity with the principles of Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in working with specialist settings or diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving improvement and supporting staff development.
