The Opportunity:

As a Director of Secondary Education, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and developing strong, values-led leadership across the school system. This is a leadership opportunity that emphasizes inclusion, equity, and high expectations, while respecting the unique identity of each academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support secondary academies in achieving excellence through collaborative leadership and shared best practices.
  • Ensure that inclusion, equity, and high expectations are embedded in all aspects of school operations and student outcomes.
  • Work closely with leadership teams to drive improvement and ensure no child, staff member, or academy is left behind.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Governance, and Finance, to provide expert support and guidance.
  • Champion the well-being, success, and belonging of students, staff, and communities across the school system.
  • Foster a culture of trust, care, and purposeful challenge that supports continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Develop and implement strategies that align with the school’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Promote a thriving, inclusive community that celebrates diversity and individuality.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in secondary education, preferably within a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion, equity, and high expectations in educational contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and develop leadership teams across multiple academies.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including HR, Governance, and Finance.
  • Commitment to the well-being, success, and belonging of students, staff, and communities.
  • Ability to hold leaders to account within a culture of trust, care, and support.

Preferred

  • Experience with school improvement strategies and systemic leadership.
  • Background in special education or supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Familiarity with educational policies and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in leading professional development and training programs for educators.
