The Opportunity:
The Deputy Head of Maths will play a key role in shaping the future of Maths education at the school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to lead and inspire both students and staff, while contributing to the ongoing development of a dynamic academic department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Maths department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes in Maths
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of continuous professional development
- Manage and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and track progress
- Oversee the planning and delivery of the Maths curriculum across key stages
- Support the Head of Department in managing the team and coordinating school-wide initiatives
- Work closely with students, parents, and the wider school community to enhance engagement and achievement
- Promote inclusive education that meets the needs of all learners
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and related areas
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams within an educational setting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to use data to drive improvement in student performance
- Competence in using educational technology and resources
- Commitment to inclusive education and meeting diverse learner needs
- Fluency in spoken and written English
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a school or educational setting
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies
- Familiarity with teaching English as a second language
- Experience in mentoring and supporting other teachers
