The Deputy Head of Maths will play a key role in shaping the future of Maths education at the school. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Maths department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes in Maths
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of continuous professional development
  • Manage and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and track progress
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of the Maths curriculum across key stages
  • Support the Head of Department in managing the team and coordinating school-wide initiatives
  • Work closely with students, parents, and the wider school community to enhance engagement and achievement
  • Promote inclusive education that meets the needs of all learners

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and related areas
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams within an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to use data to drive improvement in student performance
  • Competence in using educational technology and resources
  • Commitment to inclusive education and meeting diverse learner needs
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school or educational setting
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a second language
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting other teachers
